Tucson Ingenuity Academy's (TIA) mission is to inspire each child and parent who enters our doors to find a calling that will change the world.  IALDS AccreditationTIA is a one room schoolhouse with a rigorous program for mastering Reading, Writing, Math, and Civilization using computer simulations and intense Socratic discussions.  Socratic discussions develop critical thinking and communication skills.  The self-paced quests and challenges equip children to be independent lifelong learners.   There are no grades at TIA.  Learners master a topic before moving on to the next challenge.  They also participate in hands-on quests for Science, Entrepreneurship, Coding, and the Arts, which prepare children for apprenticeships and real world challenges.  Learners are responsible for their own education in our learner-driven community.  They are accountable to each other, set and track their own goals, establish the rules of engagement in the studio operations, run town hall meetings, and push each other towards EXCELLENCE.  In short, learners develop leadership skills that will help them thrive in any environment, situation or endeavor they undertake in the future.

TankOur farm school provides the ideal setting for students to expand their knowledge and embark on adult-like responsibilities, resulting in a solid foundation for young adulthood.  Caring for farm animals and gardening fosters the essence of community and contribution.  In her book From Childhood to Adolescence, Maria Montessori taught that a farm school setting is the ideal condition for adolescents to instill in them the lessons of hard work and independence.  Beyond challenging their intellect, compassion, diplomacy and collaboration are developed through experiencing human and nature interdependence.

We want to inspire you to use your most special gifts, in a way that brings great joy, to solve a deep burning need in the world. At TIA, we call this a Hero’s Journey.
Our promise at TIA is to have you well prepared for any selective university where you can score high enough on a standardized test to gain admittance.

Universities are changing so rapidly that it’s difficult to imagine what a college education will look like in ten years. Unfortunately, many colleges still place a great deal of importance on standardized tests, which are little more than IQ tests, and are difficult to improve on once you understand basic test taking tricks.

Once you get over the test taking barrier at the university of your choice, your portfolio and critical thinking skills will be a big boost during the application and interviewing process.

Most importantly, you’ll be well prepared to shine in the real world, whether you choose to go to college full time, part time or not at all.
In order to protect the learning environment of our Eagles, we do not offer tours during the school year working hours. If you are interested in learning more, please call our sister school Mis Manos Montessori School at 520-498-1700.  Mis Manos will be closed from 7/29/19 to 8/9/19.  During this time, please email us at info@ingenuityacademy.org. We can schedule a time for you to visit the TIA campus and learn more about our learner driven community.
TIA runs year round for eleven months a year, typically with five to seven week “sprints” followed by a week off. The annual tuition is $9,300 payable in eleven monthly installments of $800.00 with an initial deposit of $500.00. Scholarships are available for the 2019-20 school year.  Schedule a tour to learn more about TIA and financial assistance.

Tucson Ingenuity Academy (TIA) is a learner driven community in a schoolhouse setting located in northwest Tucson, Arizona.  Our studio is situated in a ranch with farm animals.  We currently have a horse, a pony and two miniature ponies.  Other farm animals will be incorporated in the future along with a garden for the learners and their families.
